8 Lessons I’ve Learned From Having a Fitness Routine

    July 31, 2022

Working out takes discipline and I mean major discipline! When you do not see the results that you desire as quickly as you would like (because we all want instant results) it’s easier to stop than it is to keep going. I am encouraging you to keep pushing yourself to stay on your journey. Fitness is a lifestyle, working out consistently is not the easiest thing in the world. Here are 8 lessons I’ve learned from having a fitness routine.

    • Slow results to build muscle. Don’t give up. The internet is full of people selling false lies and telling you that you can get X in X amount of time. The reality is that it doesn’t happen overnight and for most of us not even in a few months. Progress and results take time. If you have an event that you want to look amazing for (let’s face it, we all do) then you need to start early.

    • Don’t compare your beginning to someone’s middle

    • Pace yourself, you’re new, you won’t do it like the people in the video. It’s okay to take a few seconds rest if you need to.

    • You may gain weight due to muscle mass don’t let the scale scare you. Pay attention to how you feel and the way that your clothes look. I went from a weekly weigh in to one time in April, it actually was the last day of the month and I think I will continue to do that at the end of every month. Weekly weigh-ins didn’t do much for me but keep me anxious.

    • Rest days are so important to not overwork the muscles. I was doing leg workouts daily and seeing little results mid April I decided to give myself two rest days during the week and then alternate two days of doing upper body and I saw more results in those two weeks and I had seen in the three months prior.

    • Mind muscle connection is a real thing. On days where I didn’t feel it like doing a workout and I had no mind muscle connection I could tell the difference from days where I did. The days that I did have mind muscle connection my muscles burned and it was a good burn.

    • Stay hydrated. Drinking water will help you strengthen your muscles.. Drink enough water. Drink more water than you think you should. Water also cleanses toxins out of your body.

    • Don’t give up.

By sharing with you these 8 lessons I’ve learned from having a fitness routine I hope that it can encourage you to keep going especially when it’s hard to push yourself to do so.
